Linde and Sinopec Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement to Promote Carbon Neutrality

On November 28, 2023, Linde and Sinopec Group Corporation (Sinopec) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing, under which the two companies will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of hydrogen energy, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), and green gases, in order to jointly promote the goal of carbon neutrality.


According to the agreement, Linde will provide Sinopec with hydrogen energy technologies and solutions, including hydrogen production, storage, transportation, refueling and application, and support Sinopec to carry out hydrogen energy demonstration projects in the fields of refining, transportation and power. The two companies will also cooperate in the field of CCUS, utilizing Linde's carbon capture technology and experience to provide carbon capture solutions for Sinopec's refining, chemical and natural gas projects, and to explore the possibility of carbon utilization and storage. In addition, the two companies will cooperate in the field of green gases, utilizing Linde's technologies in air separation, gasification and liquefaction to provide Sinopec with green gas products and services, such as green oxygen, nitrogen, argon, liquefied natural gas (LNG), etc., so as to reduce Sinopec's carbon emission intensity.
